I just did this project today. A couple of notes
1) This is VERY bright
2) Removing the ridges is a little harder than it looks. Most 5/8 drill bits do not fit a convention drill. I ended up buying a 5/8 woodworking bit and it was too small in diameter. A had to wiggle it around a bit to make clearance.
3) The batteries are expensive, the best price I fould was $10/2
4) Do not buy the cheapest flashlight out there. The $1 Walmart light had a really bad switch that broke the moment I used

Its price may be jacked up. Try getting the batteries from a photo shop.

They actually don’t cost that much. You can get them in packs of 2 and packs of 4 for about 3-5 dollars. (I’ve got a camera that uses them).
