peninsula, bay area. they dont even care if you have weed on you as long as you dont cause trouble or do stupid shit. here, one of the football players sells weed and during the fall sports luncheon, he gets to sit next to the cops.

the LAST thing you want to do is get in trouble with MPs, they on some power trip being in the mil as it is already, plus they’re in competition with other MPs in other units or shifts etc, so they can earn their own personal little brownie points… the worst thing about being on post that i’ve seen too many times is that you are on their property and it is so much harder to come out on top, because they have their own military court, and its a bitch with your word going against the MPs word.

Nice to avoid a ticket, nicer still to avoid jail, and really really nice to not get shot. Stopped while driving, hands on the wheel, window down a bit, answer politely, don’t argue. Cop gives you a ticket, the place to argue is court. Been stopped any number of times by cops, never once had a speck of trouble. Every cop I ever met under those circumstances seemed out to do his job.

And when I had someone in my house, stone, confused and wet, the cops were there in under two minutes and they came just like I asked– quietly and fast and through the front door, and I had told them I didn’t think that I was in danger or the person was a threat and to come in alert by not hostile (no weapons drawn). They did just that– and when I called the next day to check on things, they had figured out who the person was and had taken her home to her dad. Safe all around, me, her, them.
