The ordinance against skateboarding is not simply a means to ruin kid’s fun. Pedestrians are injured by skilled and unskilled skateboarders all the time. Do you think it would have escalated to the point it did if the skateboarders had stopped when the officer asked them to, instead of being bulligerant and rebellious?

I hope you realize that your profanity and unwillingness to engage in civil, logical dialog only works to strengthen the negative stereotype others have of skateboarders.

If you don’t like the law, that’s fine. Work with local government to find a compromise. It’s your government, too. But you can’t simply ignore the law and then pretend to be victimized when the law is enforced. By the way, ignoring and running from law enforcement is against the law EVERYWHERE.

i seen the video and they were complying untill they got screamed at , pushed, held down and caught by the neck. the one lil guy wasnt going anywhere and the cop comes running back and choke holds him, whatever u see , i still see all wrong in the cop. these kids were scared and knew this cop was an asshole who they thought was going to rodney king them! I would expect any kid to be scared and run!

Cop: “I tell you to stop and you tell everyone to keep going.” The kids do not dispute this assertion. Not complying.

Cop: Tells kid, “come here.” Kid runs. Not complying.

Kid: “Dude, let’s leave, seriously.”

Lady: “running from the cops.” Kid replies, “I’m not running. I’m staying right here.” THAT is complying.

Cop: to girl “you know what, sit down.” Girl replies “No”. Not complying

You say they were complying, and maybe they were, but it’s not in the video.
